Rev-Limiters, Gear Change Lights (Shift Lights) & Speedo Converters

REV-RITE rev limiters and SHIFT-RITE gear change Lights are unique solid state electronic units designed for increased driver performance without over-revving and stressing high performance engines.
These units are compatible with the major types of inductively based contact breaker or electronic ignition systems used on 99% of vehicles. The Limiters are not suitable for CDI or MSD ignitions but Change lights are compatible. The Rev-Rite has a proven method of protecting engines from over-revving. They do not cause harsh engine vibration or backfiring which were synonymous with older electric units. The Shift-Rite limiter is a combination limiter and change light unit. Each is fully independently adjustable, with the shift light operating more accurately and faster than a rev counter. The driver is able to concentrate on driving while seeing the gear change light out of his peripheral vision. If the light is "driven through" engine performance is not restricted, until the limiter setting is reached. Hence the limiter becomes a back-up, while the light provides the signals, maintaining peak power and performance. Hire and Fleet Vehicles Most modern petrol engines are quite capable of maintaining 6000rpm for short periods, but are these rpm necessary? A typical 1600 to 2000cc car is capable of speeds between 130-160 Km/h (vans 95-130 Km/h) whilst the engine is doing about 4000 rpm. Hence engine life expectancy can be improved by limiting the engine's maximum revs.
The SD304 and SD404 are adjustable for any number of cylinders(not CDI or MSD) All other units are adjustable 5000-10,000 rpm. Please specify 4,6,8-cylinder or Rotary when ordering.
